What makes generation 4.0 so unique?
The new features of the 4.0 technology at a glance.

• New eye model
  Based on the current requirements due to increasing digitalisation, the eye model was adapted. It will be used as a basis for the calculation algorithm of the lens design.
  
  
• Innovative design
  For generation 4.0, optimisation of the wave front was limited to 12,000 measurement points. The new algorithm makes it possible to optimise the wave front with 30,000 measurement points distributed over the entire lens.   In this way, the geometry of the lens is calculated even more precisely.

• Optimised HOA
  High Order Aberrations such as coma and trefoil are minimised even at the edge of the lens.  This phenomenon means the light rays entering at an angle at the edge of the glass converge in the form of a comet instead of at the desired point.  This causes us to see less clearly at the edge of the glass. With the 4.0 technology, this is eliminated as much as possible, resulting in an even sharper view in every part of the lens.

• Digital fitness
  Screen use is significantly increasing and this is affection our visual habits.  In this context, the algorithm optimises the near and intermediate vision zone.  This is how we achieve an increased vision quality on digital devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops. 
  
  
• Near Vision ID
  When refraction of the far vision is required, the axis orientation of the cylinder will be slightly different from the axis orientation in case of a near vision refraction.  If we perform an additional near vision correction and take into account the difference in the orientation of the axis, a visual improvement of up to 40% can be achieved! 
   
• Pupil size as additional parameter
  Our pupil size is dynamic, it changes with age and according to light conditions.  By including the pupil size in the calculation of the lens design, we achieve even sharper and clearer vision under all conditions.  Every field of vision can be used to the maximum at every pupil size.

The generation 4.0 premium progressives are available in lens designs I'Vision® 4.0, O’Design® 4.0 and O'Free® 4.0, as well as in Indoor®4.0 screen lenses.

It has already been tried in Germany.  50% of the people surveyed are more satisfied with their new 4.0 progressive lenses.  The other 50% experienced little difference.
