Vision Company and optoVision are delighted with their repeated first place. Every 2 years, the German Duitse Marktintern (comparable to Test Aankoop – Belgian consumer protection organisation) begins it search for the best eyeglass lens supplier. Opticians award points based on different criteria for each participating lens manufacturer. There was a total of 9 criteria.
optoVision undoubtedly sets the bar high and continues to invest in optimisation. We proudly took our first ‘best lens supplier’ award home with us in 2016. At the time, we scored 1st in 5 out of 9 criteria.
Thanks to the company’s tireless commitment and its dedicated employees, we will set the bar even higher this year!
This time, we are leaving our competitors behind in no less than 7 out of 9 criteria (we are knocking big names off the throne). We have been awarded the number one spot in the categories: product quality, pricing strategy, partnership, innovation, marketing, service, flexibility, training and delivery time.
According to opticians, optoVision® is successful in taking a well-thought-out business and sales philosophy to market. It’s a philosophy in which ‘Typical German Thoroughness’ coupled with a fair value for money work hand in hand with one another.

OptoVision extends its victory in the survey “Brillenglazen 2018”.
Everyone at “Markt Intern” (comparable to the Test Aankoop consumer protection organisation in Belgium) has been working very hard these past few weeks. The results of the market survey carried out by the German opticians have been processed. The German opticians were asked to evaluate and comment on their partnership with their lens supplier over the past two years, and they did. No less than 9 criteria were evaluated. The final results are based on 1,176 votes, a valid database. “Markt Intern” thanks the participants for their participation in the survey, their evaluations and their comments.
Ultimately, optoVision in Frankfurt–Langen is the company that can be delighted with their first place prize once again. There was added euphoria because the new winner optoVision had also won first place in the previous edition held in 2016. With an average score of 1.48, optoVision is the top German eyeglass lens supplier once again.
Therefore, the question is why optoVision was chosen as the best lens supplier. Here are a few of the reactions provided by the participating opticians:
We can keep on going with these comments, but today we are mainly interested in the reactions of everyone at optoVision on winning first place and what it means to them.
“We are incredibly proud of winning first place for the best lens manufacturer for a second time. We would like to thank our customers from the bottom of our heart for this excellent outcome”, Axel Kellersman, operations manager of optoVision, emphasises. “We have all worked very hard to further expand and optimise our services to our customers. The improvement to our overall results is proof that we are still on the right track. However, all the services are provided by people. A solid team of more than 400 employees who give their best every day and who are close to the customer, regardless of their professional area. This high level of involvement with our partners is a tremendous help to us so that we can accurately forecast and adequately respond to market demands.
We attribute those very positive results from the survey to our motto “quality beats price”. With our special promotions and various options, we provide highly targeted support to the independent optician in the competition against chains and online suppliers.”
“One special highlight from this past year was definitely the launch of the Visioner VR – the virtual eyeglass lens advisor. With the help of VR glasses, the consumer can learn about and experience many types of lenses when buying new glasses. It has been clearly proven that the optician-partner who takes advantage of this incredible help tool will become more successful and will stand out from the competition. The increasing digitisation of the market is often seen as a disadvantage by the retail industry – however, this example clearly shows the opportunities for higher revenues that come into play by taking advantage of these new technologies. As a German lens manufacturer, it is also of utmost importance for us to be the best in innovation, quality and aesthetics. Therefore, we score points with products such as Orgalit® Care, the lens that provides additional protection against blue-violet light up to 420nm, new premium coatings such as i-Protection Blue GT and –Pure HT, as well as new and trendy mirror sunglass lenses.”
As you can see in the picture, optoVision has successfully been able to improve ourselves again during the evaluation period and based on a high score in 2016. We pulled it off really well and we continue to be in first place in terms of product quality, pricing strategy and partnership. We have won 1 of 2 places for service, product line / flexibility, training and performance. Since our competitors also do their best, they are wondering what actions optoVision will take to remain on top. As far as the future is concerned, Axel Kellersmann lets us have a sneak peek at what optoVision is working on: “We are currently putting our highest priority on developing new campaigns that will support our customers in their sales efforts. A comprehensive publicity package centred on our first place award for the 2nd time as the best lens manufacturer will put our customers in the spotlight. This powerful offer to our partners, based on the motto “quality beats price” will give them the opportunity to differentiate themselves from the competition. Continuous investments in our production processes in Frankfurt also guarantees maximum product and service quality now and in the future. What’s more, innovative products are currently under development and we are working on new, highly appealing concepts and possibilities for help services. In this way, we will be able to further individualise our marketing support and make it more efficient so that we can better adapt to our customers’ expectations. Last but not least, next year is the 40th anniversary of optoVision where we will celebrate 40 years Made in Germany.
