4.1 Technology
What makes the 4.1 generation so unique?
The best year yet in its 39 years in business, characterised by a phenomenal increase in revenue – that is how the German company optoVision closes out the past year. The company is still on target for growth, despite the difficult market.
2017 ends on the same note as the year before for the best German eyeglass lens manufacturer*. optoVision has tripled its record in sales, revenue and earnings.
The German company optoVision sold more than 3.5 million lenses worldwide – that is 12 percent more than the previous year. 2017 was by far the best year ever for optoVision in its 39 years in business. “We are delighted that our customers have put their trust in the direction we have taken as a company, which has formed the basis for our company’s successful development”, optoVision director Axel Kellersmann clarifies. We will also continue full speed ahead in 2018 in the best interest of our customers, with numerous new and innovative products and services for the independent optician, promises the managing director.
Sales Director for Germany, Mr Thomas Hitz praises: “Along with our team, our customers – the independent opticians – have also done a fantastic job in 2017. They are a key factor to our success. In 2018 we, at optoVision, shall continue to do everything within our power to support them as a company in the ever-increasingly competitive market.”
The strongest market for optoVision worldwide was, and still is, Germany. The company experienced growth of 4 percent there. With the exceptional capacity and reserves in production, optoVision can quickly respond and adapt to any question or demand from the market. This is how optoVision maintains its competitive edge.
In the international markets, optoVision has sold a solid 32 percent more lenses – a strong indicator that the “internationalisation” that had been announced 3 years prior is bearing fruit and can continue to do so in 2018 as well.
The Tools & Instruments department also experienced tremendous growth. That growth can mainly be attributed to the Visioner VR virtual reality glasses. That brand-new innovative product contributed to this success with more than 600 units sold. However, the aberrometer, which was developed in collaboration with Luneau Technology in Germany, also reaffirmed the high level of success over the past year.
